Times...they are a changin'

Just when you think you got this whole parenting toddlers thing somewhat under control, the girls decide to throw a monkey wrench into it! Well, I should say, Izzy decides to throw a monkey wrench into it! I've mentioned before that the girls have been sometimes stripping themselves buck naked during naptime. Well, that continued to happen off and on, but we were lucky in that it never produced any accidents. The other night though we awoke to Izzy crying loudly in her crib. We are big CIO proponents, but since I wasn't really asleep yet, and because the cry sounded unusual, I decided to go check it out. Lo and behold Miss Izzy was buck naked in a giant pool of pee. Yep, she must have stripped herself naked prior to falling asleep and then woke herself up when she peed. We had to completely strip the bedding, clean her up, and then put her back to sleep. That sucked, but not nearly as bad as what was yet to come. During yesterday's nap, Bart decided to go check on her just to make sure she was clothed. This time though not only had she stripped herself naked again, but she pooped in the middle of her bed. Bart found her huddled in the corner trying to get away from her poop. And let's just say there was poop all over her crib...YUCK! We still managed to get her cleaned up and her crib cleaned all while her sister slept in the nearby crib. And Miss Izzy went back down for her nap.

I looked high and low on many websites of places nearby for jammies that don't have feet but that you can zip and possibly snap closed too. Unfortunately this is the middle of summer and places don't have that kind of thing. But you can tell you are truly a parent when ingenius ideas like this come to you...take her 24 month size winter sleepers and cut off the feet and shorten the arms to short sleeves. Worked like a charm! Bart said when he checked on her last night before she fell asleep that she said "Dang!"...I replied that it's probably because she couldn't figure out how to get out of her new pajamas! Ha!

Doesn't she look completely innocent here? Yeah, guilty as charged!

What a mess! We had a similar pee incident a couple weeks ago with Noodle. The joys of having toddlers :)

Oh, and very clever with the jammies. Only a mom could come up with a solution like that.
