Guess who is coming to visit tomorrow??? The Mimi Fairy! Btw, "mimis" are pacifiers in our house, and tomorrow we go cold turkey without them. Yeah, it's gonna suck pretty much! Bart and I are already planning our visit to the toy store today to figure out what the Mimi Fairy is going to bring the girls as a replacement. We are thinking a Boots and Dora stuffed animal for their cribs since the girls are so crazy about them, but we'll see what hits our fancy at the toy store. We've been talking it up all week about how the mimis are getting ready to get mailed to babies who need them and such, and I swear the girls have sucked on those dang mimis more than ever this week!
And just so you know, there is no way we are taking those mimis away tonight...we gotta watch the new season of True Blood and Entourage in peace minus all the whining and fussing about no mimis.

GOOD LUCK! We did that with Noodle a few months back and there were a few ugly days, but, after that it was ok. And then my dumbass gave her one when she was sick over Easter weekend. It was hard to look at that sad face asking for a pacifier. And that was the worst thing I could have done. STAY STRONG. And I wish you lots of luck :)
Good luck! Same here...there was a bit of screaming, but Gabby got over it pretty quickly. It was not near as bad as we thought it would be.
The best advice I can give based on our mistakes...throw them in the trash as soon as the Mimi Fairy takes them. Our failed first attempt only failed because mommy and daddy were wussies. The second time, if Gabby cried, there was no debating "should we, shouldn't we, are we being mean and unreasonable or are we being good parents..." It was WAY easier to have that choice taken away for us since there weren't any pacies to give.
